Chris Curran Ltd. Terms and Conditions

By booking services with Chris Curran Limited, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Fees

Fees will be confirmed at the time of booking. My fees will not fall below NUBSLI guidelines, and in complex or specialist domains, are likely to be higher.

Remote interpreting is charged at the same rate as in-person work.

Invoices must be paid within 30 days. Late payments incur a £40 fee (or £70 for debts over £1,000), plus interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, and a £10 admin fee.

2. Cancellations

  • 0–7 days' notice: Full fee charged.

  • 8–14 days' notice: 50% of the fee charged.

  • 15 days or more: No fee.

If I arrive and my services are no longer needed, the full fee still applies. If a second interpreter is required but hasn’t been booked or doesn’t attend, I may leave and charge the full fee, or negotiate an additional fee if I work solo.

3. Preparation

Please provide preparation materials (e.g., slides, meeting notes, links) at least 48 hours in advance. I may cancel the booking if materials are not provided or if, after reviewing them, I feel the job isn’t suitable for me.

4. Working with Other Interpreters

For bookings over one hour, two interpreters must be booked. The second interpreter should be NRCPD-registered and appropriately qualified.. I reserve the right to withdraw if a second interpreter isn’t present or isn’t qualified/registered.

5. Breaks

When working solo, I need a 5–10 minute break every 20 minutes. A full lunch break must be provided unless agreed otherwise. If I need to interpret during a break (e.g., at a networking event), alternative breaks must be arranged.

6. Recording

My work cannot be recorded, live-streamed, or photographed without prior agreement. If recording is required, it must be discussed in advance, and additional fees may apply depending on how the content will be used.
